The American Birkebiener Quilt
I made The American Birkebiener quilt using traditional piecing and
fusible applique. I made it for my Nordic ski chums who ski the
American Birkebiener every year. They stay at the One Buck Lodge
with their very gracious host Rick Brust, up in Birke land. The
Birkebiener is a 51 kilometer ski marathon race. It is considered
by many to have the most difficult ski marathon course in the world,
due to the severity of the hills.
