Hello quilters,

Thanks for visiting my website!  I started quilting in January of 2000 after I took a series of demo classes with Trudie Hughes, the owner of Patchedworks in Elm Grove, Wisconsin.  I started out making quilts for my windows like the picture on my home-page, which is one of Trudie Hughes patterns called Stars in the Chimney.  It was my first quilt top and I love it.

I learned how to make a quilt top from Trudie's demos, but I did not know how to quilt so I sewed in the ditch for a year!  In 2002, lucky me, I saw a Diane Gaudynski quilt at the quilt museum in Paducah. When I got back home I Googled her and eventually took all her classes.  She is my ideal; I can't say enough good things about Diane Gaudinski's quilting skills.  She is an excellent teacher too.

I made over a hundred quilts using the methods I learned from Ms. Gaudynski, mostly for friends. However, I felt that I needed to move in my own direction, so that's when I discovered machine applique, the love of my life.  I learned various machine applique techniques from books, and I have got pretty good at it (I even give a demonstration at my guild quilt show, "It's a Stitch Quilt Show", for two years running).

New Method

In 2005 I developed my own special technique for needle-turn applique, reverse applique, and folded cut-out applique.  My method saves time! Those of you used to using the freezer paper and starch method will be amazed at how much my method will facilitate your projects by saving you time and effort.  I am currently working on a quilt book to share my method with the quilting world.

All my quilts are quilted with YLI silk threads and I use wool batting.
