2008 BOM, Sunshine and Shadows with Birds of Wisconsin
February Block, Baltimore Oriole
home
By popular choice my BOM quilt for 2008 is birds of Wisconsin. I
love to feed the birds, and spend hours watching them out the back
window of my house. I saw an 1800's log-cabin style quilt at a
show called "Sunshine & Shadows". I fell in love with it and
wanted to make a variation of it. I hope you enjoy making this
quilt. Finished quilt size without a border is 54 by 72 inches.
After you add a log-cabin border, it's 72 by 90 inches.
The Baltimore Oriole, named after Lord Baltimore is the state bird of
Maryland. The male has a loud fluty whistle that helps bird
watchers locate it. They migrate in flocks to Mexico and beyond,
though some birds stay if they are provided food from feeders.
